REACH24H Completes Another New Cosmetic Ingredient Notification with its Pioneer Spirit
REACH24H has successfully completed another new cosmetic ingredient notification: Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, with its powerful technical strength and pioneer spirit.
HANGZHOU, September 20 – On September 13, China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) published the 30th approved new cosmetic ingredients (NCI) on its official website. The INCI name of this ingredient is Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, notified by a company in Guangzhou, with professional assistance from REACH24H’s regulatory specialists.
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Publicized at China NMPA website
This new cosmetic ingredient (NCI) was extracted from the so-called Kombucha, a kind of fermented tea shared in many regions around the world and has long been safe and edible. Due to its complex features, the whole notification process was quite challenging yet inspiring to other cosmetic enterprises.
Multi-Sector Specialists Collaborating
Although Kombucha and its extracts have long been consumed, there is no official certification as proof of its safe use and consumption in China yet.
Considering this situation, the cosmetic regulatory specialists of REACH24H built this collaboration with experts from Food Division, to conduct research on food regulations and policies of the U.S., Brazil, Argentina, Australia, and New Zealand, and consequently proved that Kombucha has a history of safe consumption in other countries and regions. These efforts made the notification of Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract possible and smooth.
Breaking Technical Barriers for Multiple Component Notification
Besides, REACH24H has also overcome the challenges of notifying that ingredient as multiple components. In terms of the Provisions for Management of New Cosmetic Ingredient Registration and Notification Dossiers, once the ingredient wasn’t of a single source, the notifiers should provide certain research documents to explain the unavoidable reasons for the mixture.
REACH24H has considered that situation in advance and assisted the company in conducting extra tests to prove the necessity of the formula with convincing data, eventually getting approval from NMPA.
