On July 19, 2022, the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) published a notice, announcing that 22 substances were included in the Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances (IECSC), which were under consultation from April 28 to May 13, 2022.

These 22 chemical substances were manufactured in or imported into China before October 15, 2003, which fulfilled the supplementation criteria but missed the previous supplementation window. They are now regulated as existing chemical substances in China, and thus free from new chemical registration or notification requirements under the Measures for the Ecology and Environmental Management Registration of New Chemical Substances (MEE Order No.12).

On April 28, 2022, the Chinese Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) published a notice1 to consult on the addition of 22 substances into the Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances in China (IECSC). The consultation will end on May 13, 2022.

Details of these substances can be assessed here2, including chemical name (both in Chinese and English), CAS number or Series number, molecular formula, structural formula, etc. These 22 substances were manufactured in or imported into China before October 15, 2003, which fulfilled the supplementation criteria but missed the previous supplementation window. They are now going to be regulated as existing chemical substances in China, and thus free from new chemical registration or notification requirements under the Measures for the Ecology and Environmental Management Registration of New Chemical Substances (MEE Order No.123).

The last update to the IECSC were made in March 3, 2022, adding 18 substances (CL news).
