Taiwan Region Lists 15 Substances as Chemicals of Concern

The listing of 15 substances as chemicals of concern will trigger further regulatory actions under Taiwan TCCSCA.

On January 12, 2023, Taiwan EPA listed these 15 chemical substances as concerned chemical substances. Their production, import, sale, use, and storage are now subject to tightened regulations under Taiwan TCCSCA.

Online sales of these substances are prohibited immediately. However, transitional periods have been granted for complying with new requirements, including pre-approval prior to manufacturing, import, sales, use or storage, handling quantity recording and reporting, accident prevention and emergency response, labeling, and SDS requirements, etc. For example, existing handlers shall obtain the approval before February 1, 2024.
