With the development of a global economy, China is attracting more foreign investment  which translates into a greater influx of goods. Nevertheless, special considerations, attention to restrictive international standards on labeling and close attention to changing local rules and specifications have made  the Transport of Dangerous Goods coming into China a special case. Due to the potential hazards of dangerous goods, the Ministry of Transport (MOT) in China has established a relatively complete supervision system to manage the safe and reliable transport within its borders.

Over the past two years, MOT has released several vital regulations and standards u, such as the Measures for Safety Administration of Road Transport of Dangerous Goods, and the Regulations Concerning Road Transport of Dangerous Goods (JT/T617-2018).

Additionally, the transport of dangerous goods with low hazards and in small quantities, such as aerosols and disinfectants, has always been a topic of heated discussion in the industry. A highlight in the Measures is the introduction to the small packaging exemption system.

REACH24H as platinum sponsor for The Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA) will be hosting the “Update of China’s Implementation of its Road TDG Regulations” webinar on July 14 as part of COSTHA’s DG Webinar Series 2020.

The Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA), founded in 1972, is an industry association devoted to the safe and efficient transportation of hazardous materials/dangerous goods.  COSTHA represents a wide variety of shippers, carriers, manufacturers, trade associations, training companies, and related businesses and associations. REACH24H has maintained a close relationship with COSTHA for years.

In lieu of COSTHA’s 2020 Annual Forum, COSTHA Platinum Sponsors will be hosting a series of informative webinars for members only from some of the industry’s most sought after professionals.

The speaker in charge of this webinar will beJakie Jin, who holds a Master’s degree in polymer materials. He plays a key role in REACH24H, primarily working on  compliance-related projects linked to global GHS, chemical registration and transport of dangerous goods. He has rich experience on industry’s best practices and has successfully assisted many enterprises with their compliance duties.

The presentation will cover the basic regulatory framework for the transport of dangerous goods in China, especially those requirements pertaining to road transportation. Some important updates and supervisory requirements will be discussed as well, offering a closer look at excepted quantities (EQ) and limited quantities (LQ), clarifying relevant transport requirements and exemption measures.
