Latest Korea Chemical Regulation Updates and Implementation Status: K-REACH, K-BPR, and K-OSHA
REACH24H hosts its 14th Chemical Regulatory Annual Conference, free for all attendees to participate.
Building on the success of the past two years of virtual forums, CRAC 2022 this year will focus on the status quo and future challenges and possibilities found in chemical management, pesticide registration, cosmetics, and food contact materials in Asia, the EU, the U.K., the U.S., and other major trade partners.

K-REACH Registration Status and Case Studies
- K-REACH concluded the registration of existing chemicals for 1,000 tonnage band tons by last year. This session will introduce the status of this registration, reports, and risk assessment of chemicals subject to registration. Accordingly, a risk assessment review is being conducted, and major revisions and precautions for future registration will also be covered.
New MSDS Regulation Implementation Status
- This session will overview the changes in the MSDS system in Korea after the full revision of the Occupational Safety and Health Act on January 16, 2021. Also, the revised content of the 2021 MSDS system will be addressed, the actual status of MSDS implementation in 2022, the outline of self-inspection, results, and implications. In addition, major findings and current status as a result of MSDS supervision, future revisions and regulation forecasts of the system. Finally, the countermeasures and practical advice to the industry will be shared and announced by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
Overview of K-BPR and Regulatory Issues
- This session introduces post-management status and implementation under the K-BPR and introduces major projects of the Ministry of Environment related to biocides and the latest regulatory updates in 2022.

Seongmin(Mike) Sohn
General Manager and Principal Consultant at REACH24H KOREA
Seongmin(Mike) Sohn manages global regulation compliance projects including chemicals, cosmetics, food, and quasi-drugs as well as market research in Korea. He worked at Korea Cosmetic Industry Institute (KCII) for global regulation and market research, Global RA at Daewoong Pharmaceuticals and worked at Histogenetics. He was invited as a key speaker internationally as a regulatory expert in domestic and international events. He recently spoke at 2022 Chemcon regarding K-REACH topics, 2022 in-cosmetics ASIA and 2022 COSMOPROF ASIA for CHINA regulations.
Byungseob(Daniel) Lee
Senior Researcher at REACH24H KOREA
He studied at Gyeonggi Univ., conducted research at Separation Process Laboratory for two years, and presented a poster to the Korea Chemical Engineering Association. He had worked in a major automobile paint manufacturer, and now he is working as a regulatory consultant in REACH24H KOREA and closely working with authority bodies such as MoE, KITECH and KCMA. He recently spoke at KITECH’s Global Environmental Regulatory Expo with “Overseas Chemical Management Regulation updates; Vietnam and India”.
Jaehyuck(Danny) Choi
Senior Researcher at REACH24H KOREA
Danny is a Project Manager for Chemicals, Cosmetics and Cosmetics ingredient regulation projects for China and Korea at REACH24H. He has successfully implemented government projects from MoE and MoH over the last 10 years. Especially with this relatively new regulation, K-BPR, he has been supporting communications with each stakeholder and regulation monitoring. He has participated in domestic chemical regulatory conferences to run on-site consulting booths and play as a technical consultant.
