China is implementing new state fund on WEEE disposal treatment over domestic electrical and electronic producers and importers; qualified companies will enjoy a national allowance for their WEEE disposal treatment.

China is implementing from July 2012 a new state fund on the disposal treatment of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) products, according to a joint notice published by five Chinese departments in the middle May of 2012. Domestic producers and import consignees of six groups of products – TV sets, refrigerators, washing machines, air-conditioners and computers – now face a WEEE fund ranging from ¥7 to ¥13 per machine or part units. Also, companies that have been certified for the disposal treatment of WEEE products will enjoy a national allowance for their WEEE disposal treatment.
