Background

On July 1, 2019, China’s Taiwan implemented the new overarching cosmetic regulation, Cosmetic Hygiene and Safety Act, making a significant overhaul to Taiwan’s cosmetic regulatory system and setting different implementation dates for different amendments. One of the most high-profile changes is the introduction of a product notification system. The Act stipulates that from July 1, 2021, general cosmetics must be notified to TFDA before circulating in the Taiwan market. In addition, the new requirements on cosmetic labeling, prohibited ingredients, and permitted colorants will all take effect on July 1, 2021. Companies aiming to enter the Taiwan market are advised to keep updated on these new requirements.

In this webinar, Ms. Angelita Hu, the regulatory analyst from ChemLinked, will firstly introduce the background and regulations to be effective, then specify the cosmetics notification procedures, necessary dossiers, labeling requirements, and changes to prohibited and restricted ingredients in Taiwan.

*General cosmetics in Taiwan: Other cosmetics except for sunscreens, hair dyes, hair perms, deodorants, and teeth whitening products.
