China Unveils 2022 Food GB Standard Legislation Plan, Involving 41 Standards

On August 5, 2022, China NHC officially unveiled the 2022 National Food Safety Standard Legislation Plan with no changes from the draft version. It is believed that various works on the legislation plan will steadily proceed soon. Stay tuned with REACH24H for the latest progress.

On June 1, 2022, China National Health Commission (NHC) opened the comment period for the draft of 2022 National Food Safety Standard Legislation Plan until June 10, 2022. The proposed plan involves 41 national food safety standards. Details are as follows:

Currently, acorn shell brown is approved to be used as a colorant in cola-type carbonated drinks and compound wine within certain limits. It is expected to have more specifications and testing methods in the proposed GB standard, which will further standardize its application.
