The use of the official communication template is not mandatory, but it is highly recommended.

This Excel-based template is a tool that enables operators to determine the embedded emissions in CBAM-covered goods in accordance with the methodologies outlined in Regulation (EU) 2023/1773. It ensures that all relevant input streams, emission sources, electricity consumption, and precursors are taken into account during the calculation process.

The template includes a worksheet titled “Summary_Communication”, which contains all the information required by the reporting declarant. This worksheet facilitates communication between third-country producers and EU importers (or their authorized representatives), streamlining the data exchange and ensuring alignment with CBAM reporting requirements.
