May 25, 2018. The day for the EU General Data Protection Regulation to come into force is officially here. With its adoption by the European Union in 2016, the GDPR finally came into effect today.

The new privacy law GDPR, which regulates the processing by businesses, individuals or organizations of personal data on its users (including Facebook and Google) comes along with a very ambitious plan of action. Among others, GDPR grants users the right to request access to their personal information, and request for specific data to be deleted and/or corrected. Companies found not to be compliant may face fines of up to 4% of their global revenue.

As several reports and surveys suggest there is still a high level of non-compliant companies and regulators still unable to cope with their newly appointed mission, the specifics of how this law will be implemented and its level of effectiveness are yet to be seen.

REACH24H strongly suggests companies under this new regulation that have yet to comply with GDPR rules to take all necessary steps to obtain all necessary data and become fully-compliant.

As always, our company remains committed to protecting all personal information you entrust us with when using our services.
