On January 13, 2023, China MEE made public the answers to questions concerning the content and implementation of the List of New Pollutants for Priority Management (2023) on the official website. This list will come into force on March 1, 2023. (Read more)

More regulation highlights in China:

🇰🇷South Korea


On January 3, 2023, South Korea’s Ministry of Environment (MoE) made public the revision to K-REACH, adding rules and requirements for reporting of changes in priority management substances contained in the product. If such substances’ production/import quantity does not exceed 1 ton/year, the corresponding report can be omitted. The amendments will take effect on January 4, 2024. On January 26, 2023, Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) consulted on the revision of the lists of poisonous and deleterious chemicals designated under the Poisonous and Deleterious Substances Control Law (PDSCL). The consultation will end on February 24, 2023. The revision is scheduled to be officially announced by the end of May 2023 and will be implemented from June 1, 2023. (Read more)
