What is the Regulations on Pesticide Administration?
This Regulation is promulgated by the State Council of P.R. China to supervise and control manufacturing, marketing and use of pesticides/agrochemicals in China. It entered into force on May 8, 1997, and was revised on 29th November 2001 according to the decision of China State Council. Two subordinate regulations were issued by China Ministry of Agriculture to provide guidance on implementation of this Regulation.
Registration Procedure of Pesticides in China
There are generally 3 phases for the registration of pesticides in China: Field Trial, Temporary Registration and Full Registration. Registration of a new pesticide, within a protection period or a new preparation, should apply for all these phases. If the applicant wants to skip the Field Trial and Temporary Registration phases, and apply for Full Registration directly, data is required for all these three phases and should be submitted all at once when applying for Full Registration.
Copies of data already provided in an application for a Field Trial and a Temporary Registration can be provided for Full Registration applicatons for a new product. For other registration types, these data can be waived based on a written explanation. READ MORE...
Registration Type of Pesticides in China
There are several different registration types specified under Chinese Pesticide Regulation.
1) New pesticide
Technical material or preparations containing active substance which has not been registered in domestic.
2) New pesticide within protection period
Technical material or preparations containing active substance which has already been registered in domestic, but still within the 6 year protection period for the first registrant.
Applicant shall apply for registration both of the Technical material and the Preparation for a new pesticide or a new pesticide within protection period. READ MORE...
What should I do under Regulations on Pesticide Administration?
The production, management and application of agricultural chemicals within the territory of the People's Republic of China shall observe these Regulations.
The production (including the production of raw agricultural chemicals as well as the processing and packing of preparations, the same hereinafter) and importation of agricultural chemicals are subject to registration.
