Background

China initiated the environmental management system for new chemical substances a decade ago. Before new chemical substances are manufactured or imported, it is required to identify hazards and assess environmental risks, and notify to the authorities, in order to prevent the ecological environment and public health from damages.

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has recently issued the “Measures on the Environmental Management of New Chemical Substances” (MEE Order No. 12), which will be implemented from January 1, 2021 to replace the original “Measures” (MEP Order No.7) which was issued on January 19, 2010. It will be another milestone in the process of environmental management of new chemical substances in China.

In this webinar, we will focus on the key points of the lately issued MEE Order No.12, and interpret major changes and widely concerned aspects, thus enterprises are able to better comply with the regulation.

Mr. Horus Guo is from the Department of Chemical Registration in the Asia-Pacific Region. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He is mainly responsible for the consulting affairs of the chemicals regulation in China, Taiwan, and South Korea. He is experienced in dealing with complicated projects and clients from different industrial and cultural backgrounds.

Nelly was graduated from Zhejiang University of Technology, majored in engineering for master’s degree. And having 7 years’ experience in chemical registration/notification in China. Nelly gathered rich experiences in all types of notification under China REACH, especially proficient in data gap analysis, notification strategy making and Non-test method evaluation (read-across and QSAR).
