This means the industrial Value Added (VA) is sure to exceed the country’s environmental protection input budget during the same period and has demonstrated the promising outlook of China’s decision to place innovation output above control investment for the industry, the Deputy Minister added.
Between 2006 and 2010 (the 11th Five-Year Period), accumulated EP industry output had exceeded 7 trillion RMB (about $1.1 trillion or €8.5 billion) with VA approximately at 2 trillion RMB (about $317 brillion or €2.4 billion) almost keeping up with the total social EP investment.
The EP industry has been identified as one of the top seven strategically new industries in China; it is also a typical “sunrise” industry that provides infrastructure basis and technology support to prevent and control pollution, improve ecological environment and preserve physical resources.
