The Classification and Labelling (C&L) inventory is a database established and maintained by ECHA and comprises of the classification and labelling information of hazardous substances. Title XI of the REACh Regulation EC No 1907/2006 and Title V of the CLP Regulation EC No 1272/2008 sets out the provisions for the establishment and notification to the inventory.
The C&L inventory includes substances that have been:
- Notified in accordance with Article 40 of the CLP Regulation,
- Registered under the REACh Regulation
- Included in Annex VI to CLP (Table 3.1, list of harmonised classifications)
The deadline for notification to the C&L inventory was 3 January 2011 and it will be made available to the public in Spring/Summer 2011.
What do you do if you have missed the deadline?
If you place a hazardous substance on the EU market or intend to register a substance for the 2013 and 2018 deadline , then after 1 December 2010, the deadline for notification to the C&L inventory was 1 month after you have placed them on the market for the first time. If you have missed the 3 January 2011 deadline, then it is advisable for you to notify without delay as you have a legal obligation to do so.
