The Inventory of Existing Chemical Substances in China (IECSC) includes totally 45290 substances manufactured/processed/sold/used in China or imported from abroad during 1 January 1992 to 15 October 2003 for commercial purposes. There are 3080 identified confidential substances and 42210 non-confidential substances, 37125 substances with CAS number and 7894 without CAS, and 32303 substances with structural information and 12987 without structural information.
Inquiring whether substances in your products are in IECSC or not before entering China market is essential preparation work. Non-confidential substances can be inquired on websites. However, inquiry of identified confidential substances can only be done by professional institutions.
